A volume worth opening: Slate Interactive's The Nature of Magic is a visual novel made with Ren'Py, currently still in development. Themes: fantasy, romance and harem. Presentation uses 3D renders and animated scenes. Available for Windows, Mac and Linux, and playable in the browser on Xgame9, roughly 4.4 GB.

Where the story starts

Magic is dying. With every passing generation, fewer and fewer are born with the Affinity. Where once every human, elf, and orran could wield magic, now only half of those born to Eorþe's six Great Families develop the ability.
